Whether pet portraits, or portraits of those special people in your life, portraits are wonderfully challenging, and endlessly fascinating. Commissions doubly so. Not only does it have to be recognizable as the person (fur or skin) you are painting, you also have to try to capture a bit of their personality.
I will accept clear uncopyrighted photos of both animals and people for commission work, the more the better.
Photos will be returned upon completion of the portrait. Time frames vary, depending on many factors, as a minimum please allow at lest 4 to 8 weeks for portraits. Fees are: 30% deposit upon sketch approval, and the remainder upon completion of the portrait, satisfaction is guaranteed, and you can watch the work in progress on my blog's home page.
To get started, or for more info contact me and we can talk about your project.
Painted portraits: I use only top grade paint, supports, and mediums. This is to ensure the permanence of the painting. If properly cared for, a painting will last forever. Canvases are gallery wrap, therefore framing is optional.
For charcoal I use artist top quality paper and charcoal. If properly cared for they should last a life time. Please note charcoal must be professionally framed with a double mat under glass to prevent the image from smearing.

Referral Program
As a thank you to you, for helping me to promote my art portrait service, I invite you to participate in my referral program. I will donate 10% of my commission fee, to the charity of your choice in your name, for all works commissioned as a result of a referral from you. This will be upon the completion of the work, and receipt by me of all fees owing. The client only has to tell me that they got the information from you. This is just my way of saying Thank You, and a way for both of us to give a little back.
Commissioning A Painting Online is Easy! By Tony Moffitt There are many fine artists who promote their work through their Blog and websites. But maybe you have a very special painting in mind...Perhaps it's a particular scene... or more likely it's a portrait of a friend, pet or loved one.Commissioning artwork has always had its challenges. Once you give the artist instructions, you're often left wondering (and worrying!) through the process. Then one day you receive the call you have been waiting on; the portrait is ready. It's a scary time. You don't know what to expect. Have your instructions been followed by the artist? did they understand your instructions? Did they do a great job?Dealing with artists online makes ordering a commissioned painting easier than ever before!Long gone is the angst, trepidation and drama associated with commissioning a work... and then being less than impressed when you see the final result. It might be that the artist you have asked to create the painting lives in another state. Or even further away. And here is the real value of dealing with an artist through their Blog.Online, the artist can post step-by-step images of your painting, as it's progressing!Or you can be emailed images, showing every step of the painting's development. Why is this so important? What makes the idea so special? You will be able to see the work, and make adjustments, suggestions and offer additional information to the artist as the painting proceeds!Artists want your feedback, but sometimes in the past, the tyranny of distance has made that impossible. Now communicating your requests takes moments. The last thing you want when you see the finished painting is to be disappointed.By working with an artist who will post the step-by-step stages of your commission, there are no more surprises. You can be assured the work will be first-class... and you can be assured the work will be exactly what you wanted!
